This is one of several galleries that I will post from my recent trip to Spain ( I have many photos to process yet and catalogue )
Truly an extraordinary trip.....traveling with my wife and an entourage of art students and art professors, my job was to capture the people of Spain, the wonderful architecture and art works of the many cathedrals and museums we visited along the way, and the students as they interacted amongst themselves and sketches they made both on the go and while idle. When able, I stepped out into the world of Spain listening to the sounds of the cities, the chatter in a Tapas Bar, or simply plugging in to my iPod as I wandered around photographing the interesting faces that were everywhere. Many times I reached out to people and found them so friendly and eager to help me with my pseudo-Spanglish or bumpstruck directions. There really is no beginning or end to these mixed images.....starting from Madrid and motorcoaching southward to Toledo, Cordova, Sevilla, Granada, Valencia, and finally Barcelona. My goal was to document the flavors of this rich country that I will not soon forget. All images were taken with prime lenses, to conserve space, and weight in my bag as well as to challenge myself, creatively-
a 50mm 1.8, 20mm 2.8, 35mm 2.0, and a 135mm 2.0....all within a ThinkTank Bag Urban Disguise 35. I managed to wear out the padding in my shoulder strap though !
Of course I had a Justin Clamp, and my trusty SB800 flashgun, complete with gels and light modifiers in tow.
My future galleries will be,"LCAD (Laguna College of Art & Design) visits Spain", "The Best of Spain", and a personal gallery titled, "LIGHT & SHADOW"
It is my hope the viewer will engage in my vision of Spain and sample the "flavors" that were omnipresent
